The Labour chancellor is preparing for a pivotal budget this autumn.
After a first year in power rocked by u-turns, rebellion and fiscal black holes, Rachel Reeves is reshuffling her treasury team.
The New Statesman can reveal that Torsten Bell – the former head of influential think tank The Resolution Foundation – will take on additional responsibility for economic policy, helping Reeves with her budget preparations.
George Eaton broke the story. He joins the New Statesman's business editor, Will Dunn, to discuss what this means for the next budget, and the UK economy.
