Trump rules out US boots on the ground in Ukraine and accepts Putin may not strike a deal

Donald Trump has ruled out putting US troops on the ground in Ukraine.

Speaking to Fox News, he said European nations would "front load" any security guarantees agreed between Ukraine and Russia.

However, he conceded Vladimir Putin "might not want to make a deal" and that would be a "rough situation".

The US president was speaking after he met leaders from Ukraine and Europe in the White House on Monday.
