But one political polling analyst has been exploring where the Reform brand is most vulnerable to attack - and he reveals his results exclusively in this episode of the New Statesman podcast.
Steve Akehurst is founder of the non-partisan research initiative Persuasion UK. He joins Anoosh Chakelian and Rachel Cunliffe to share the arguments Labour, the Conservatives and the Lib Dems can use that are most likely to turn voters away from Nigel Farage and Reform UK.

Dominic Cummings, the controversial political strategist best known for leading the Vote Leave campaign during the 2016 Brexit referendum and serving as chief adviser to former Prime Minister Boris Johnson, joins The Daily T for an unfiltered and wide-ranging interview. Often described as a political disruptor and one of the most influential behind-the-scenes figures in modern British politics, Cummings has never been one to shy away from controversy — and this conversation is no exception.
In this special extended episode, hosts Kamal and Cleo Watson delve deep into the mind of the man who helped reshape the UK’s political landscape. Cummings shares his bold and contentious solution to the ongoing UK migrant crisis, discusses the future of British conservatism, and weighs in on the possibility of a political alliance with Reform UK leader Nigel Farage.
He also offers a scathing critique of Britain’s current political system, calling it outdated, dysfunctional, and in urgent need of overhaul. Most importantly, he lays out a radical blueprint for how he believes the UK could be governed more effectively — from civil service reform to new forms of political accountability.
Whether you view him as a visionary reformer or a dangerous iconoclast, this is an essential listen for anyone interested in the future of British politics, Brexit, immigration policy, and the forces shaping Westminster behind closed doors.
Key topics discussed in this episode:
- The truth behind Brexit: what went wrong and what comes next
- Can Dominic Cummings and Nigel Farage work together?
- Cummings’ controversial immigration reform plan
- Why he believes the British political system is broken
- His proposed solutions for government and civil service reform
- Behind-the-scenes stories from No. 10 Downing Street

Will joins Tom McTague to discuss what he discovered in the course of his reporting, including why Conservative grandees first celebrated, then turned against, Kemi Badenoch.
They explore whether racism plays a role in the way Badenoch has been treated, and whether the woman who some cast as a new Thatcher was ever as able as the Conservatives wanted to believe.
