UK Politics latest: Tory police chief defects to Reform accusing Badenoch of 'cowardly capitulation' | CNBC TV18
Nigel Farage, the leader of Reform UK, is addressing a news conference about his lawless Britain campaign.
"What is beyond doubt is there is a very strong and growing perception in the country that something is wrong," he says.
"All the way through from policing on the streets, right through the courts and all the way to the prison system." Farage says there is "certainly rising public anger", pointing to protests outside migrant hotels in the UK.
He adds this issue is now about "the safety of women and children", rather than one of "fairness".
The Reform UK leader then introduces Rupert Matthews, a former Conservative Party member who serves as the Leicestershire Police and Crime Commissioner.

In this special edition of The Daily T, Telegraph Political Correspondent Dominic Penna sits down with Reform UK’s Lee Anderson for a no-holds-barred conversation on the future of British politics.
Anderson addresses accusations that Reform is merely a protest party, lays out the party’s ambitions to govern by 2029, and defends Nigel Farage’s policy shift on the two-child benefit cap.
From immigration and the ECHR to NHS reform, proportional representation, and Starmer’s future as PM - Anderson pulls no punches.
He also reveals the role of younger voters in the party’s rise, hits back at social media critics, and explains why the Conservatives are, in his words, “finished.”
